Flushing and draining your hot tub

By The Hot Tub Place Admin May 16, 2018 0 comments

Flushing your hot tub is an essential part of both your and your hot tubs well being. After a period of time a substance called biofilm builds up in the network of pipes inside your tub where you cannot see or reach (Think of a vase of flowers and the film that builds up inside the rim of the vase is similar to that in your pipe work).

The bad news is that standard chemicals such as chlorine or bromine do not eliminate biofilm so you should treat your hot tub with a biofilm remover such as System Flush or other such products available.
Biofilm if left untreated can affect the pump performance amongst other things in your hot tub, its also not too pleasant sitting in a tub which is producing small flake like particles into the water (this is minute pieces of Biofilm breaking away from your pipework.
You should use a weekly biofilm product or at the very least add chemical flush every time you drain your hot tub
Be safe and Happy hottubbing
